Welcome to Paul Knox Middle School

Our Purpose
The purpose of Paul Knox Middle School is to educate students to be successful, self-sufficient seekers of new knowledge and citizens who are actively engaged in their community and world.

Our Direction
1) We believe all students can and must learn at relatively high levels of achievement, and our responsibility is to work with each student to ensure that high standards have been achieved.

2) We believe academic success is best achieved when the student, the parent(s), and the teacher(s)
all make significant contributions in the education process.

3) In addition to the basic three “R”s of Reading, Writing and Arithmetic, we believe teachers should
adhere to the five “R”s of education to encourage student academic growth.

The five “R”s are:

1) Relationships

2) Relevance

3) Rigor

4) Writing

5) Reflection

At Paul Knox Middle School, our faculty and staff are committed to encourage, develop and train
students to become academically prepared and well-adjusted young adults. We believe our
students must grow academically each and every year.

Aiken County Public Schools

District Purpose
The mission of the Aiken County Public School District is to create in students a passion for learning and achievement that will serve them as they compete and contribute in a global society.
ACT Aspire News

This past summer the S. C. Legislature changed the state testing program.  A new test called Aspire will be given in grades 3 through 8 to test reading, writing, English, math, and science. Students in grades 4-8 will continue to take the SCPASS tests for science and social studies.  The Aspire ELA and math tests will be given on April 28 -30, the Aspire science test on May 5, and the two SCPASS tests will be administered on May 7 and 8, 2015.
The biggest change that our students will notice is that each Aspire sub-test has a time limit.  Students will be tested for approximately one hour per day, and the writing test must be completed in 30 minutes.  Some students may not finish before they must stop working and turn in their tests.  Our students are more familiar with the SCPASS tests, which have no specific time limits.  Teachers are currently providing practice for students so that they will become more comfortable with the timed tests.    The two different science tests will allow us to assess our students’ knowledge of the South Carolina science standards while still being able to compare our students’ achievement with their peers nationally.
Don't Forget to Order Your Yearbook!!!!

How do I order a Paul Knox yearbook?
  1. Go to www.jostensyearbooks.com
  2. Click “Buy Your Yearbook”
  3. Type in Paul Knox Middle School, and select it from the list that will appear below.
  4. Click “I do not have an account number”. (Students completed interest order forms in school, and these forms were then mailed home. If you still have one of these letters, your account number will be written on it and you can choose now to enter it in to view your child’s selections.)
  5. Choose which product(s) you would like to purchase. The “All Color Yearbook” is the standard option; however, you may choose to purchase other packages as well.
  6. Click “add to cart” under whichever product(s) you choose.
  7. It will prompt you through a series of steps asking you about adding personalization to the cover and purchasing accessories to make your child’s yearbook even more special! (You can even choose to purchase an extra yearbook to donate to a student who isn’t as privileged as your own!)
  8. Search for your child’s name and select it once found or “create new account” if it’s not found.
  9. Enter the parent information and “Continue” until you enter payment information and submit your order!
*PK Yearbooks will be given out towards the end of the school year. The ability to order online will end shortly, and the price will increase once they are on sale at the school.*

SchoolFusion Parent Account
A SchoolFusion Parent Account allows parents to view all of their children’s classroom information in one web location. Parents can check assignments, view important deadlines on FusionPage calendars, follow their children's sports calendars, school events and much more!  Once parents have created an account email notifications will be sent when new announcements and assignments are added.  Only parents/guardians of students enrolled in Aiken County Public School District are allowed to register.

To create a parent account, you will need the student id# for each student and birthdate.  The birthdate should be keyed in with  no leading zero or dashes.
